Reimbursable Work Authorization (RWA)

Reimbursable Work Authorization (RWA) is a formal agreement executed between General Services Administration (GSA) and a federal agency client. The essence of this arrangement is GSA’s commitment to supply goods, services, or both to its federal agency customer in exchange for reimbursement. Notably, this reimbursement covers both direct and indirect costs incurred during the provision of these services or goods. This mechanism facilitates a fair and transparent exchange of services and resources between GSA and its federal client agencies.

A significant aspect of RWA process is the electronic Reimbursable Work Authorization system, commonly known as eRETA. eRETA portal, accessible at extportal.pbs.gsa.gov, serves as the primary customer-facing platform for RWA-related information. Federal agencies can interact with GSA, access critical data, and effectively manage their RWA proceedings through this platform. Therefore, RWA and eRETA together create an efficient, interactive, and transparent environment for GSA’s federal customers.
