Client’s Niche

Versa Products is a U.S.-based manufacturer of office and educational furniture. The company sells its products to federal buyers through the GSA Multiple Award Schedule, and government sales are an important part of its business.

Goals and Challenges

The main challenge in this case was the timeline. The client’s existing GSA contract was set to expire in approximately three weeks. Within that window, a fairly large and complex streamlined offer had to be prepared, submitted, and approved, with no gap in the client’s GSA contract coverage.

The case was also more complex than a typical streamlined offer. The client wanted to make several significant changes at the same time: product deletions, product additions, and a price increase. Normally, these types of changes are handled through separate modifications after the new contract is awarded. Handling them inside the streamlined offer itself required a special approach and the Contracting Officer’s approval.

It was a pleasure working with the team at Price Reporter, with Anastasia leading the project. They were highly responsive, attentive, and efficient in helping us get back on Schedule quickly. Having seen their level of expertise and professionalism firsthand, we decided to continue working with them for post-award management, which has been a smooth and effective engagement.

Solutions Provided

The key to this case was careful preparation and coordination. Price Reporter’s team structured all of the requested changes in advance and worked closely with the Contracting Officer to agree on an approach that is unusual for a streamlined offer: incorporating the product deletions, additions, and price increase directly into the offer package. We responded to every request from the GSA very quickly, so the review process never lost momentum.

The initial offer was submitted on January 27, 2025. The Contracting Officer then asked us to withdraw and resubmit the offer, which we did on February 5. The new GSA contract was awarded on February 14, only 9 days after the resubmission and 18 days after the original submission.

Achievements

Within just 18 days, a large and complex package was submitted, withdrawn, revised, resubmitted, reviewed, and approved. The award included all of the requested product deletions, product additions, and the price increase, and there was no gap between the client’s old and new GSA contracts.

The result was not simply a fast contract award. Several actions that would normally be handled one by one after the award were completed within the same streamlined offer process, under an extremely tight deadline. Versa Products continued selling to federal customers without interruption, with an updated catalog and updated pricing in place from day one of the new contract.
