Mensch Supply, founded in 1947, is a leading distributor of specialty building materials and MRO supplies, serving the tri-state area for over 70 years. From its origins as a local lumberyard, the company has grown to provide building materials, millwork, tools, hardware, janitorial, electrical, and HVAC supplies. With locations in The Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens, Mensch Supply delivers daily across NYC and nearby areas, serving contractors, property managers, and multifamily building owners with quality products and personalized service.
Mensch currently services the New York Commercial and local Government markets, as well as State, Local and Educational clients, with the biggest success in federal government contracting space, supplying a wide range of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) products. Initially focused on the GSA marketplace, they have since expanded to serve multiple government platforms, including SLED (state, local and educational) markets.
Goals and Challenges
Mensch’s initial goal was to scale their government contract sales, focusing on consistent GSA contract management and expanding into new channels to increase revenue. Key challenges included maintaining compliance, creating efficient processes to handle growing order volumes, and positioning Mensch to take on larger contracts across federal, state, and commercial spaces.

Services Provided
Mensch managed their GSA contract independently with low sales, and slow growth, until partnering with Price Reporter in December 2016 to help fully manage the contract, expand marketplace reach, and grow business opportunities. With Price Reporter’s guidance, Mensch gained access to additional platforms like FedMall, IntraMalls, etc. and soon saw their business grow by using Price Reporters unique federal market intelligence, strategic proposal consulting, and compliance management services.
Achievements
Price Reporter provided Mensch with expert GSA contract management and compliance support including securing a new 20-year GSA contract in November 2019, enabling uninterrupted business growth. Price Reporter’s specialized market intelligence and consulting services positioned Mensch to win key contracts while our custom order management system allowed them to handle high transaction volumes efficiently. Additionallv we supported Mensch’s non-profit partner in obtaining their own GSA contract, and we are currently upgrading Mensch’s commercial platform with custom punch-out capabilities to attract more business from large agencies, prime contractors, and educational institutions.
